The documentary was created on the occasion of the 14th Dalai Lama's 90th birthday and, through unique footage from 1991-2022, brings his life, personality and spiritual message closer. In addition to memories and archival materials, it also offers a picture of Tibet, its people, landscape, rituals and traditions. 💛

The word Dalai Lama means ocean of wisdom. The 14th Dalai Lama Tändzin Gjamccho is not only the most important spiritual representative of Tibet, but also belongs to the most important personalities of the contemporary world. The documentary Ocean of Wisdom summarizes filming with the Dalai Lama from 1991 to 2022 and conveys his important inspirational messages in the fields of secular ethics, non-religious spirituality, the development of inner peace, loving-kindness and changes in education with an emphasis on inner values, work with the mind and emotions. At the same time, the film outlines the Dalai Lama's life story supplemented by his mother's memories. The visual component of the film is a fresco representing the whole of Tibet - the landscape and its inhabitants. We will see the most important places, unique and almost unknown rituals and celebrations.
💡 A minimalist bar (beer, lemonade and snacks) is available right in the cinema. There are also toilets (at the café of the Ethnographic Museum) and blankets, in case you get cold in the evening.
