About event
Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere / Silent Era Tour
Dan Bárta, eleven-time winner of the Angel Award in the categories Singer of the Year and Singer of the Quarter Century, became widely known in the nineties with the band Alice and his performance in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He also became an integral part of the iconic J.A.R. His broad musical outlook has been applied from danced Sexy Dancers to popular songs from movies (including Snowboarders, Rafťáci, Horem pádem) to jazz combined with e.g. with the Robert Balzar Trio. He left his mark in a number of other domestic music projects and performed with the greats of the world music scene (e.g. with the phenomenal singer Bobby McFerrin or with Sting's court guitarist Dominik Miller). In 2000, Dan Bárta surprised fans with his own group Illustratosphere, with which he has released five consecutive albums and one live double album. The Silent Era concert tour is mainly dedicated to returning to the songs from the first four albums, which are re-released in a remastered reissue (and for the first time on vinyl too!). An unmistakable voice with excellent singing technique, lyrics that play with the charm of the Czech language and first-class musicians: all this gives rise to songs that soar above the domestic standard of popular music. Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere have been enchanting listeners across generations and musical genres for almost 25 years!
Lineup: Dan Bárta – voc; Filip Jelínek – keys; Miroslav Chyška – g; Robert Balzar – b; Martin Valihora – dr.
