Dancetopia 2026

Dancetopia is four days of performances, workshops and discussions with international artistry and performance art at various locations in Prague. The third year of the festival creates a platform for dancers regardless of the level of professionalism.

The program, in which the themes of authenticity and artifice intertwine, will take place on the weekend of 5-8. June and will provide a space for the meeting of dancing, art and the public. Visitors are invited to create a space for dreaming together, exploring movement and inspiring each other across the dance floor.

Workshops will be led by international performance and artistry, including special symposium guest Isabel Lewis. Born in the Dominican Republic, Lewis is an artist and choreographer whose work deals with open-source technologies, dance improvisation, and dance as a form of social interaction in everyday and celebratory situations. Her work has been presented at institutions around the world. She currently works as the artistic director of the Tanzquartier Wien, a center for contemporary choreography and performance art in Vienna.

The center of the third year of the Dancetopia festival will be the Goethe-Institut in Prague, while some program blocks will also be extended to other Prague locations, such as the Libeň Synagogue, so that each performance will bring a unique experience.
