About event
The Forest Project is the third and last part of Danijela Zajc's personal trilogy called Niti PraGozd (in Slovak it is a play on words that can be translated as "Threads, Prah, Forest" or "Not even a rainforest"). The trilogy began with the author's debut performance Threads (Nitky) in 2019, continued with the production Threshold (Prah) in 2021, and the performance Les concludes it.
The author is interested in the "driving force" of social changes and the position of the individual in society - with an emphasis on the position of women. He examines the relationship between the individualization and collectivization of society, deals with the dynamics of social and personal crises, and looks for parallels between the individual and society.
Les deals with the position of man in a patriarchal, neo-capitalist consumer society, which is doomed to self-destruction, and the absurdity of the situation when the majority of society is aware of this state, but nevertheless does not demand radical change (the film Don't Look Up is a good example of this themes).

The performance Les is part of the international project Spreading the Roots, financed by the Perform Europe platform. The project explores sustainable touring models and supports artistic exchange across Europe.
In 2025, the show is presented in Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia and Romania, while works from partner countries were presented at the Reciklart 2025 Festival in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
