DARWINOVA ŽELVA (představení pro dospělé s hlídáním dětí)

A professor of contemporary history is visited by a mysterious old woman who claims to have been taken from the Galapagos by Charles Darwin as a turtle. He offers his version of history to the professor. According to her, Darwin was wrong in his evolutionary theory of species, because he did not count on the possible regression of the human race, which manifests itself in the form of war conflicts or perhaps manifestations of human calculation, the bearers of which are the Professor and the Doctor, who want to use the turtle woman selfishly for their own benefit. The puppet production emphasizes the relationship between man and nature and offers a satirical view of the nature of the species Homo sapiens, which despite its age is constantly cycling in its unteachability.

Divadlo Mikro-teatro is the first in the Czech Republic to present this contemporary Spanish playwright Juana Mayorga, who is one of the most celebrated Spanish playwrights both in Spain and abroad and is the recipient of several awards, the most important of which is the National Prize for Dramatic Literature (2013). By staging his play "Darwin's Tortoise", we contribute to expanding awareness and enriching the Brno cultural scene with contemporary Spanish drama.
