In June 2021, the French painter Claude Henri Schmitt easily swung into a bird after a long and difficult transformation. This transformation means the Lewy body dementia, a neurodegenerative disease, the loss of orientation and equilibrium, perception and memory disorders as well as visual hallucinations.
The figure player Karin Schmitt, who is also the daughter of the painter, remembers her sick father, his progressive and inappropriate transformation and tries with empathy, Tenderness and sensitivity to sketch his portrait. Based on pictures of the painter of personal memories and poetic texts, she tries to reflect this feeling of a dwindling reality, an unstoppable loss, which may in turn enable the quiet entering of other sensitive spaces. Dramaturgy: Elisabeth Bohde
Bühne and Puppe: Christof von Büren
The Heidelberg Theater Days 2025 are organized by the Free Theater Association Heidelberg e.V. in cooperation with Karlstorbahnhof e.V., the festival is funded by the city of Heidelberg via the cultural office and the Ministry of Science, Research and Art Baden-Württemberg Amateurtheater Baden-Württemberg e.V.
