About event
German-language open-air summer cinema! Discover the fascinating, provocative and uncompromising portrait of the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in a documentary that will show you how powerful the word can be in the fight against social hypocrisy.
Prodigy, controversial writer, traitor, feminist, fashion lover, communist, pessimist, language terrorist, rebel, enfant terrible rooting in her own nest, genius, vulnerable artist, Nobel laureate prizes.
The film about Elfriede Jelinek, who was the first German-language writer to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, puts the author's artistic play with language in the foreground. The feature-length documentary is a multi-layered, associative film portrait that is full of contradictions and that approaches the writer's technique of language montage from her very own perspective. The works of Elfriede Jelinek are read by leading Austrian and German actresses.
Director: Claudia Müller
Starring: Elfriede Jelinek, Sophie Rois, Stefanie Reinsperger, Sandra Hüller, Martin Wuttke
