**DESCRIPTION**
Join us for a scenic 22km hike through the historic Epping Forest, via beautiful Wanstead Park, ending at Wanstead station. This route takes you through ancient woodlands, serene lakes, and charming open spaces, offering a refreshing escape from the city. Wanstead Park was once home to Wanstead House, where Queen Elizabeth I is believed to have stayed. The hike finishes in Wanstead Village, a vibrant area on the Central Line, just 20 minutes from central London.
Highlights:
• Explore the vast Epping Forest, one of London’s largest and oldest woodlands
• Walk along peaceful lakes and natural trails, surrounded by diverse wildlife
• Visit Wanstead Park, a historic 18th-century landscaped garden with stunning scenery
• Discover the site of Wanstead House, a lost mansion with a fascinating past
• Finish in Wanstead Village, with cozy cafés and easy transport links back to the city.

Meeting Point: Epping Station 09:00.
Ending Wanstead around 15:00

The cost is **£10 per person.** for hike only.

* Guided Hike planned and led by experienced AAA leaders, trained Summer Mountain Leader with Wilderness First Aid Training.
