About event
"Adéla, the coffee in Vienna has been awful lately, maybe it's time to emigrate."
You usually learn the following facts about Kurt Gödel:
- Albert Einstein liked to go for walks with him after work,
- he comes from Brno,
- he is the greatest logician since Aristotle,
- and out of fear that someone would poison him, he refused to eat and starved to death.
Moreover, he unshakably assumed a second life after life and also that the world is essentially logical and good. But if the world is basically logical and good, who poisoned the strudel? And did someone poison him? Who are the three weirdos lecturing on math? And why should Kurt Gödel write a stand-up about mothers?
Don't be afraid of anything.
Everything will be explained.
Have a strudel.
Nobody poisoned him.
"I understand strudel, strudel is great. Why infinity?"
The performance was based on the surprising life journey and complex academic work of Kurt Gödel. But you really don't have to worry about not understanding it. Don't let the fact that you don't like math put you off. The director of this production graduated from mathematics with a 4 and that did not prevent her from not only directing this work, but also partially writing it. Although some mathematical terms are sometimes mentioned there, it's okay if you don't know anything about it. We always translate it into common speech as well.
Gödel's fate is not only about logic, but also about endless curiosity and the complicated last century.
"What if there will be wars and flying into space for nothing?"
If you are a fan of clever humor or believe that theater, mathematics and curiosity are sexy, come to our strudel. Maybe it will be better than pizza and Netflix.
The show lasts 60 minutes. And there are no more than 20 people talking about mathematics.
