♥ Cacao is a wonderful gift from nature that we are happy to spread. Before the cocoa bean gathered global fame as chocolate, cocoa was honored as a divine drink and spiritual phenomenon. Thousands of years ago, cocoa was used in the indigenous cultures of Meso-America in rituals, sacrifices and to find connection and peace among themselves. It is said that cocoa forms a bridge between the visible and the invisible world. As a superfood, cocoa is also one of the most rich food sources that the earth knows. Consumerated in the purest form, there are countless benefits for body and mind: positive energy, reduction of stress, more clarity, focus and flow. A beautiful and supporting partner for transformation, on many layers.
♥ Kakao Express is a ritual and performance collective that creates contemporary ceremonies, staged with the colorful world and deep-rooted wisdom of cocoa. We interweave the transforming power of ceremony and the connecting magic from theater to poetic ceremonies, sensory interactive experiences and workshops. Kakao Express was founded in 2019 by Nina, after Cacao came her way during her travels through Guatemala and Mexico. With her background in theater, she was fascinated by the mythical world of cocoa, and started a continuous journey of discovery into the stories and traditional customs of this golden fruit. Together with visionary artists including musicians, poets, performers, philosophers and body workers, she investigates authentic rituals to connect with the wisdom of the heart and each other.
❖ Nina Leya van Koppen works in the field of theater, film and ceremony. She connects performing arts with spiritual practice and creates settings in which qualities such as imagination, intuition, introspection and devotion can be deepened. She shift between different roles; As an actress, she tells stories and investigates the embodiment of emotion. As a theater maker and ceremonialist, she creates fairytale -like atmospheres who activate the senses. As a vocal driver, she opens a space for others to discover their unique voice in message and sound. Her work is inspired by studies in theater, voting, kundalini yoga, various forms of meditation and through the lessons of our beautiful nature.
ren Elena Tierra is an intuitive artist, multi-instrumentalist and vocal alchemist. She creates deep "soul spaces" where the power of sound forms a gate to find wholeness, both in yourself and with spirit. She shares her music in various settings, such as Tantra-Retraites, plant medicine ceremonies and various festivals in the Netherlands. In addition to her music career, she is also a vocal liberation coach. Of het nu door haar rituele optredens is of door mensen te begeleiden bij het bevrijden van hun stem, Elena inspireert en begeleidt je naar diepe verbinding met je oerkrachtige creatieve expressie van wie je in essentie bent.
