About event
HELL XIS is proud to make the return to Portugal from the mythical Dead Kennedys to a double punk dose in June 2025.
formed in 1978 in San Francisco, California, Dead Kennedys are easily identified as one of the most important and iconic names in the history of punk worldwide.
Since the band's name to their stance on stage and outside of it, Dead Kennedys have always been a source of controversy. In their first period of activity, between 1978 and 1986, the band edited 4 albums that became striking and defined a style, stuffed with irreverent hymns, always putting their "finger on the wound" and generating controversy. Musicly unmistakable and always corrosive letters, Dead Kennedys themes are usually social and political in nature, satirizing various public and powerful figures, firm institutions and authorities in general, as well as popular culture and all the rotten society, with themes that, unfortunately, remain so current 4 decades later. This set of factors have generated a worship phenomenon around you, which remains very alive to this day. After several years stopped, the band returned to the active at the beginning of 2000s with some changes in training, but maintaining the maximum intensity in their performances. In 2025 the band announces a tour that has passed through our country to two concerts that are foreseen in the Minimal Intense, with founding members East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride to the helm and vocalist Ron "Skip" Greer (former Wynona Riders) that gives voice to the classics of Dead Kennedys since 2008.
