About event

Interreligious and racism-critical tours through the Christmas garden
Between tradition, religion and racism - rethink Christmas!

What is it about?

Christmas is considered a festival of love - and yet also tells stories of power, images of the "other" and colonial traces.
On the tour through the interactive Christmas garden, we ask together with Muslim and Christian voices:
How do colonial ideas shape ours religious images?
How can we open up Christmas - for dialogue, diversity and new perspectives?

Why this is important

Christmas reflects our society.
Here we want to show: religion can connect, points of contention can be reasons for discussion, and new, respectful realities can emerge from traditions.

Duration: approx. 90 minutes

Entry free

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Tuba Işik, Gökce Aydin and Bastian Schmidt
