About event

✨ Topic of the fifth meeting: Decolonization is not a metaphor! ✨

The use of the term decolonization has become very widespread recently. Sometimes it happens that it becomes only an abstract philosophical concept. While there is undoubtedly a need to decolonize our ways of thinking in general, it is also important to address specific material examples of (neo)colonial violence and the possibilities of resistance against it. This is what this decolonial circle will be about.

Hana from SdruŽen will facilitate. As always, if you have an interesting topic in mind and would like to take on the responsibility of facilitating one of the next meetings, we'd love to hear from you!

⚠️ Trigger warning: some of the resources listed below talk about different forms of violence (e.g. rape), please approach them with caution and don't forget to take care of yourself afterwards.

👩‍🦽 Accessibility:
Café Mezzanine is not completely barrier-free, there is a staircase leading inside, but it can be overcome with a manual wheelchair. Toilets are wheelchair accessible. If there is anything we can help you with, please let us know. If you are not feeling well, please come in a respirator, or stay at home and come to the next meeting when you are healthy.

🌍 We see decolonization as an integral part of the feminist struggle. That's why we decided to set up an informal reading/discussion group, where we will delve into the topic together. If you see it the same way and want to deepen your knowledge, join us!

❌🎓 We are not in a school, so we want the circle to be as accessible as possible. Let's make it what we want! Can't read the text? Watch a lecture or listen to a podcast instead. And if you don't even have the capacity for that, we'd love to see you anyway!
