It does not end with demolition
The demolition of the Monolith of Transformations object does not represent its end, but the next phase of its existence. The clay monolith, designed from the beginning to be temporary and subject to natural erosion, will now be demolished and simultaneously returned to the process of creation. The obtained material becomes the input for the next workshop focused on the technique of pressed clay, where it will be reworked and transformed into new structures.
The act of demolition is therefore not destruction, but transformation – an open process that emphasizes the cyclicality of materials, knowledge sharing and active community involvement. With this step, the project develops its original intention: to look for more sustainable approaches to architecture not only in the final form, but also in the life cycle of the building itself.
We hereby invite the general public to participate in the process of transformation of the clay pillar. Under the leadership of the kolemhliny collective, the object will be demonstratively disassembled and the material will subsequently be reused in a workshop focused on pressed clay in architecture. There will be an opportunity to make and take away a smaller object from part of the clay pillar. You can participate in the demolition itself, the workshop or both parts of the process.
