With Pavla Cenková in the footsteps of artistically and historically valuable tombstones of prominent personalities in the Brno central cemetery.
How did Brno deal with the body's remains of its most important 19th century builder? How do we treat our memory? In the lecture, three almost detective stories dedicated to significant tombstones that have been partially or completely lost, incorrectly determined or forgotten will be presented. The history of these monuments is significantly reflected in the history of Brno and Central Europe in the 20th century. This is the first of the series of six lectures by art historian Pavla Cenková, who presents her research activities focused on the period of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The lecture takes place as part of the Brno Architectural Manual project, which was extended last year to another period, including objects built between 1900 and 1918. Estimated length of 120 minutes.
