About event
Persons of minority sexual orientation or gender identity (LGBTI+) have the opportunity to seek support and community in various organizations and communities. However, the opportunity to get to know each other and meet during inclusive cultural, sports, spiritual or social activities is often regionally limited.
This is why several LGBTI+ organizations have joined together to bring their activities outside the places where they normally operate. Together, they develop diversity in every region of Slovakia.
After stops in Nitra, Košice, Banská Bystrica and Chynorany, the last stop awaits us — Žilina already on April 12!
Program:
10:00 - hour run with lotus flowers. Possibility of a dynamic warm-up and running 5-10 km according to the runners' preferences, along the route along Rajčianka with a possible run up the hill and back to Záriečia (you can shower at the station).
11:00 – brunch
🥐 Small brunch with the organizers and participants in an informal conversation about God, faith and hope, orientation or identity in a safe and accepting environment.
12:30 – 13:00 – spiritual program (Old Catholics)
⛪ Old Catholic priest Ľubomír Jaško will bring a service of the word with a short prayer, intercession and common prayer.
13:00 – 13:45 – sports activities (Lotus flowers)
⚽ In addition to the morning run, the queer sports organization Lotus flowers has prepared exercise and sports activities outdoors where everyone can participate. You can look forward to speedminton, volleyball or frisbee. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about Lotus flowers in the info window at their table. These sports activities will take place throughout the day, so don't be afraid to join in at any time.
14:00 – 15:00 – discussion and author's reading – I want to tell you something (ZRP)
📖 Discussion and reading of samples from the book Association of parents and friends of LGBT people, which brings stories of families and their descendants of minority sexual orientation or gender identity.
15:00 – 15:30 – coffee break
15:30 – 16:30 – discussion (Faith in the colors of the rainbow+SIGNUM)
Young Czech filmmaker Tobiáš Frýdl prepared the Slovak version of the project Faith in the colors of the rainbow, where clergy supporting LGBTI+ believers perform. You will also have the opportunity to listen to Dávid, who, in addition to being a participant in this project, is on the board of SIGNUM - an organization dedicated to the inclusion of queer people in the church.
16:30 – 18:00 – finishing brunch during the interviews + the option of a vegan snack with a voluntary contribution
P.S. During the entire event, you can find boards with the opportunity to participate in the joint search for inclusive spaces for queer people in or outside the church.
