Ružinov will open to its residents on June 6 in a way that it is not normally seen. Ružinov Day will bring a program spread over several locations, which will show the history, the present, and the daily functioning of the district. Visitors will get to places where decisions are made, work is made, and public space is taken care of.
One of the main pillars of the event will be commented historical tours. They will bring to light the well-known and lesser-known stories of Ružinov - from its development, through transport and industry, to water bodies and iconic locations. Each route will show the part of the city from a different angle and reveal connections that usually go unnoticed.
"The idea of Ružinov Day was created in order to introduce, within a few hours, those who make Ružinov a nice, well-maintained and safe place with a wide range of options for spending free time. It will be something like a part of the city in a cube, and I believe that it will be a pleasant experience for everyone who comes." says the mayor of the Bratislava-Ružinov district, Martin Chren.
Open days of institutions and services that ensure the functioning of Ružinov also form a prominent part of the program. Community services will present technology and work at different times of the year and show what is behind clean streets and maintained public spaces. The city police will present their daily activities, including equipment, technology and canine. The Ružinovská fire station will also open its doors, where visitors can see emergency equipment and the work of rescuers.
Ružinov Television is also part of the program, the public can experience the atmosphere of the TV crew and get a glimpse behind the scenes of the production. The Ružinovská Library will prepare interactive activities for children, readings, creative workshops and playful educational forms for older age groups.
During the afternoon, a lively family space will be created in front of DK Ružinov. The Court of Miracles will bring a theater, children's Olympics with collecting stamps and prizes, performances by Dragon Riders, stilt walkers and inflatable attractions for children and families.
The program will be complemented by sports activities and club presentations that will show the background of Ružinovo sports. Play zones, creative workshops, theater entrances and attractions will be prepared for families with children, which will transform public spaces into lively meeting places.
The cultural part of the day will include film screenings in the Nostalgia Cinema, theatrical elements and an evening concert by the Bratislava Boys' Choir in Park A. Hlinka.
The day culminates in Piatkovica on Saturday at Štrkovecki Lake, where movement, music and a relaxed atmosphere combine into one shared experience. The concept represents a healthy "party" in motion - participants can run or walk accompanied by music.
Ružinov Day is not about one place or one type of program. It is about a city in motion - about people, services and stories that come together in one day and show how the city part really works.
