Deň vody a Svetový deň orangutanov

ZOO Bratislava will celebrate 19th August Water Day and World Orangutan Day. Water Day will take place on the water playground from 10:00 to 15:00. Special feeding of orangutans takes place at 13:00 at the outside enclosure in the primate pavilion. The Bratislava Water Company, in cooperation with which the water playground itself was created, prepared an educational island to explore water in everyday life. Children will experiment with the permeability of different materials, create colorful drops of patterns, paint water on the pavement, and also discover "hidden links" - pictures that will only appear after contact with water. The island organized by the Bratislava Zoo will focus on life in the water. Children learn to recognize fish species, know the natural riverbed and its impact on the diversity of water life. There is also a simulated fishing approaching the theme of excessive fishing and art activities. Orangutans Sumatianske, which can only be seen in Slovakia in the Bratislava Zoo, are a species of critically endangered animals. At 13:00 there will be an exceptional commented feeding of orangutans, during which they will receive specially served feed. In this way, the ZOO seeks to support their natural forms of behavior related to the search for food. At the same time, visitors will learn about their lives, how to protect them and help them survive in nature, as well as from us from Slovakia.
