Author of the visual: Dávid Šima
Denisa Faguľová (1994, SK) graduated from the department of design and business with a focus on fashion design and cut development in Denmark. Currently, she expresses herself creatively through the technique of hand knitting.
The exhibition entitled Act of Contemplation is a statement about her personal experience and exploration of the concept of mental health. The term contemplation refers to the practice of complete presence, while one of the forms of this practice, with which the author is closely related, is hand knitting. For Gallery Výklad, the author prepared an installation that brings a large-format hand-knitted object with the inscription "You Need Me More Than You Know" into the space. The work is complemented by her personal artifacts, referring to the beginning of the treatment of anxiety and to the key moments of self-discovery.
Through the repetitive acts of knitting, the author establishes a deep contact with her inner essence. Her gradual, conscious and meditative work becomes a therapeutic process that goes beyond the visual framework and opens up space for introspection. The installation thus represents a contemplative approach not only to creation, but also to life and to self-reflection.
The exhibition program of the Výklad Gallery for the year 2025 was supported by the Art Support Fund from public sources. The partner of Galeria Výklad is the city of Trnava.
