About event
Classism - what is it? A few years ago, almost nobody knew the term, today he became popular and criticized a lot. But what is behind it, where does it come from and how can we use it for a transformative practice? Classism is an activist concept that describes discrimination and oppression based on social origin and position - or just class origin and class. Classism contributes to maintaining the class society. Class, for example, decides on access to money, education, social participation and culture. People from the poverty and worker class, e.g. unemployed, low-income or homeless people are negatively affected. You will experience exclusion, violence and are prejudiced.
In the weekend seminar we want to approach the term theoretically, discuss criticism of the concept, exchange our own experiences, reflect on our own class biography and think together what a solidarity practice can look like. There are no access to access.
Participation is free of charge. However, we ask to cancel in good time if you are prevented. Because of the participation limit, we only ask for really binding registrations.

Unfortunately, the premises of the educational institution are only partially usable for wheelchair users: There is an elevator (with the dimensions 125 cm x 70 cm). However, there is an edge of almost 5 cm to get into the premises. Unfortunately there are no barrier -free toilets. We apologize for these circumstances.
The event is funded by the Berlin State Center for Political Education.
