About event
The series of events in Studio 14 – THE rbb ROOF LOUNGE continues on October 29th at 7 p.m. with the radio3 story lounge “Really good stuff!”. This time with one of the most important plays in German literary history: Meike Rötzer tells "Faust".
Faust is a driven man. He throws himself into the sciences, wants to understand existence, but his mind just can't grasp things! The only thing that helps is a pact with the cynic Mephisto: here on earth he is Faust's servant, he will carry him away into the sensual rush of life. But in the afterlife he will be Faust's ruler. That's the deal.
With a cup of drugs in his blood, Faust lets his devilish companion carry him away into ecstasy, staggers on Walpurgis Night in front of glowing rock faces between witches and creatures - always with the image of the most beautiful woman in the world, Helena, in front of his eyes. Faust soon sees that in every woman: He doesn't want to let go of the very young Margarethe and drags her into his destructive whirlpool - straight into catastrophe.
Meike Rötzer's free story is theater for the ears and a message to our cultural memory before writing - world literature for the eardrum.
Admission is free.
