Assisted reproduction is an important phenomenon of modern medicine, which, however, has raised many questions and moral-ethical objections since its inception. Sometimes, even the believers themselves have trouble understanding and accepting these reservations.
Reproductive medicine is constantly opening up new topics to which the legislation of many countries had to react - for example, sex selection, surrogacy, three-parent family, cloning or experiments on embryos.
The most fundamental question in this area remains the dignity of the human person in its earliest stage and the special exceptionality of human procreation, which is much more than only biological reproduction.
