About event
What is the secret of the rubber boot sticking out of the snow? What awaits Kiki and her talking cat in an unknown city? Where will the unconventional traveler Kakan go? And what would reason know about life if it didn't listen to the heart?
Children's Night of Literature invites young and old readers on a journey through stories from Slovakia, France, Japan and Poland. During one early summer evening, contemporary children's books performed by actors of the Žilina Puppet Theater will come to life in non-traditional places in Žilina. Visitors create their own route between individual stations and discover the world through adventure stories, fantasy, humor and wisdom hidden between the pages of books.
HOW DOES THE CHILDREN'S LITERATURE NIGHT WORK?
Readings take place simultaneously at all four stations. We start at 17:00 and the previews are repeated every hour and half hour: 17:00 - 17:30 - 18:00 - 18:30
Each reading lasts approximately 15 minutes. The rest of the time is dedicated to moving between individual locations.
The locations are marked with the flags of the countries from which the books come. We deliberately do not number them or determine the order of visit. Visitors can create their own route and follow the stories according to their taste.
At each station you will get a stamp for your literary map. Those who visit all four countries and get all stamps will be entered into a draw for book prizes from the Artforum bookstore at 19:00.
