About event
Dear community,
We would like to invite you to this year's Diaspora Summer Academy by NARUD e.V. on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Kurt-Schumacher-Haus (Erika-Heß-Saal), Müllerstraße 163, 13353 Berlin-Wedding (near Wedding subway/S-Bahn station)
Topic: Closing knowledge gaps: Global realities in educational work
We look forward to interesting keynote speeches and discussions with our Speakers:
- Abdou-Rahime Diallo (Co-Director and Co-Founder of Diaspora Policy Interaction UG) on the topic FAHAMU ALKEBULAN: The world we have and the world we want - instead of occidentalism, reshaping cooperation!
- Mohammed Ali Chahrour (social scientist with specialization in migration, anti-racism and diversity) on the topic of Eurocentric and racist discourses as a result of colonial continuities in educational work
- Stela Fernández Covarrubias (Managing Director of Mamis en Movimiento e.V.) on the topic of critical material selection: diversity of perspectives instead of exclusions, voices of the Global South in the Education
The Diaspora Summer Academy is a full-day event with which we want to offer educational actors from the Global South or diasporic/migrant people as well as BIPoC the opportunity for joint exchange and discussion. Please understand this.
The conference is free of charge and meals are also provided.
We ask that you register bindingly at [email protected]

We look forward to registering in person so that we can get to know each other better on site. However, if you cannot attend on site, please let us know when you register. Then you would also have the opportunity to take part in the event all day via Zoom.
You can also find the full program in the appendix.
We look forward to many registrations and forwarding of the invitation!

the NARUD e.V. team.
