About event
The Prinzen have been ruling the German pop landscape for 35 years and rightly so! With an unmistakable sound, great hits and a good dose of humor, they have not only sung their way into the charts, but also into the hearts of millions of fans. Six million records sold, 16 gold and platinum records, two Echo Music Awards and numerous other prizes prove: This band is not a one-hit wonder, but the royal elite of German pop! Whether “Millionaire,” “Man in the Moon,” “Kissing Forbidden” or “(You Must) Be a Pig” – their songs have long since become the DNA of German-language music. In 2026, for the band's 35th anniversary, they will present themselves live to their fans with a very special production and tour through Germany with “Symphonica”.
“Everything just stolen”? No, everything is orchestrated in 2026! The princes have sent their greatest hits to the royal sound palace and are now letting them shine in an elegant symphony guise. 50 musicians on one stage: together with the renowned orchestra of the Thuringia Philharmonic Gotha-Eisenach, they present an unforgettable concert experience full of emotions, musical sophistication, rousing arrangements and of course an extra portion of princely charm.
1991 - Germany in upheaval, Leipzig in transition, and right in the middle: seven young musicians who provide the soundtrack of a generation with their debut album "Life is cruel". Within a very short time they became the first all-German pop group to climb the musical royal staircase. Their songs shaped the 90s and are still playing today in daycare centers, stadiums and probably even in space.
But The Princes are not just retro royals, they are a long-running hit. For over three decades, Sebastian Krumbiegel, Tobias Künzel, Wolfgang Lenk, Jens Sembdner, Henri Schmidt, Mathias Dietrich and Alexander “Ali” Zieme have been delivering new songs, legendary live shows and – of course – always fresh musical nonsense. They've revolutionized the a cappella genre, with instruments or without, and they're far from done. Even after 35 years they perform with the original line-up! And the best thing: 82% of all Germans know it, the remaining 18% simply haven't listened properly.
One thing is certain: If you don't know who The Princes are, you're missing out. Anyone who knows them loves them anyway!
