About event
With “The Street of the Fishing Cat,” Jolán Földes became the most successful Hungarian writer of her time; shortly after its publication, the novel about the Paris exile of the 1920s and 1930s was translated into twelve languages. At the time, however, the Jewish author's novel could only be published in German in the Netherlands. The translation by Stefan Isidor Klein was published by AvivA in autumn, edited and with an afterword by Britta Jürgs.
