4. Digital Asset Legal Conference (DAR) – 18. November 2025, WU Vienna or online
On 18. November 2025 the Digital Asset Legal Conference (DAR) will take place for the fourth time. This year, the established specialist conference will once again offer an update on current developments in supervisory and private law of digital assets. Among other things, the learnings & challenges from one year of MiCAR will be discussed and a private law regulatory framework for digital securities will be presented ("DiWpG").
New in 2025: For the first time, a separate session will be dedicated to tax law issues surrounding digital assets - an increasingly relevant aspect for legal and business practice, especially with regard to DAC8 and Crypto-Kest.
The DAR is aimed at practitioners from law firms, companies, associations and authorities who would like to find out and exchange information about the latest legal framework and challenges in the area of digital assets.
Agenda:
1. Session: Supervisory Law(09:30-13:00)
One year of MiCAR - Learnings & Challenges. What challenges remain? - Update on the supervisory and practical side, current developments and interaction with PSD I
2. Session: Private Law (1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
A law on digital securities and digital values (DiWpG) - a discussion about a possible framework in Austria, compared to the German parallel regulation and practical suitability
3. Session: Tax Law(3:30-5:00 p.m.)
What current developments can be observed in Austria and the EU? Discussion about DAC8 and Crypto-KESt.
