- How to ensure the political participation of people with a migration experience in Berlin?
- What are the obstacles - and what are the paths leading to greater visibility, engagement and decision-making influence?

These questions are summed up by the event at the end of the three-year project "We Are Part of Berlin! Strengthening the civic participation of refugees from Ukraine".
Since 2023, more than 120 Ukrainian participants in five groups have received training, support and motivation for active participation in social and political life in Berlin. Many participants created their own initiatives, established networks and inspired others to take responsibility for their rights.

The project is aimed at strengthening the participation of people from Ukraine in civil society. Through workshops, meetings and mentoring sessions, the participants gained knowledge, courage and new ideas.

💬 In the podium discussion, the following will take part:
- Dr. Kamila Sjoll-Mazurek, head of the Polish Social Council;
- Tetyana Honcharuk, human rights defender from Ukraine / Member of the Martsan-Hellersdorf District Council for Participation and Integration;
- Antonios Hazim, public organization Hiwarat e.V. (Ukrainian: "Dialog");
- Mahdiya Hashemi, head of the Afghan Women's Union.

👩‍💼 Moderator: Tetyana Lopaschuk, Deutsch-Ukrainisches Büro (DUB) / Viadrina Center of Polish and Ukrainian Studies (VCPU).

📸 The event takes place on the last day of the photo exhibition "Strong Voices: The Role of Ukrainian Women in the Life of Berlin", inspired project participants.

🗣 After the discussion, we invite you to informal communication and a networking event, open to everyone who is interested in political and public participation, wants to share their own experience or find new contacts.

✨We look forward to seeing you!
