About event
The Slovak landscape is beautiful. And then there are stories that make you look at those hills and rivers a little differently.
Together with the Andrej Bagar Theater in Nitra, we invite you to a discussion about the production Rev, vresk a brud. The guest of the evening will be playwright Daniel Majling, who will take you behind the scenes of this dark and captivating theatrical statement.
Slovak ballads are actually miniature horrors. Concentrated fear of loss, betrayal, loneliness, of forces we cannot name or control. And it is these stories that the production transforms into an intense theatrical experience full of tension, physicality, music and images that will get under your skin. The talk will offer an insight into how ballad poetry is transformed into contemporary theatre, how to work with the motif of fear and catharsis and why these dark stories still attract us so strongly.
If you are attracted by theater that does not caress, but cuts exactly where it needs to be, do not miss this evening.
