🎭 A Romany hero who was almost forgotten.
🖤 Theatrical performance Black Partisan from the workshop of the Minor Theater brings to the stage the true story of Josef Serinek - a Czech Roma who once became during the Second World War from prominent figures of the anti-Nazi resistance.
✊ Serinek went through the concentration camp in Lety, from where he managed to escape. He then founded and led a partisan group in the Vysočina that fought against the Nazis.
📖 The production by director Jan Jirků is based, among other things, on the book Czech Gypsy Rhapsody and on the memories of Josef Serink himself.
🎙️ His story is accompanied on stage by Richard Samko, journalist and presenter of Czech Television, who brings a strong personal authenticity to the role.
🔥 Black Partisan is adventurous and at the same time a powerful statement about courage, freedom and people who were able to defy the times that did not wish them.
🌲 A true Western from the Highlands, the kind you would be hard pressed to find in history textbooks.
