Next Saturday, 15.11., students will present their projects in various spaces of Divadlo Lab and VŠMU in the afternoon and evening.
This year's Night of Theaters is in the spirit of the slogan "This event belongs to us", which invites to a shared experience and co-creation of a story. The theater becomes a meeting place - audience and creators, people and spaces, stories and moments.

The production of American Psycho develops and re-interprets the cult work through the raw and admitted emotionality, vulnerability and crisis of the main anti-hero - banker Patrick Bateman.
His iconic statements such as "I simply am not there", "Inside doesn't matter" or "There is no real me, only an entity, something illusory" are refuted by an effort to dive into the soul a young man in the vortex of modern social and relational trends, archetypes and hierarchies. The production does not offer a character study or a social drama, but brings to the stage the perspective of a man - his feelings, insecurities, weaknesses and hopes, but above all his disgust, frustration, anger and hatred leading to violent personal radicalization. The characters are not a reliable image of reality - they are an interpretation of his mind, they are a construct created by social consciousness, they are the first association, they are what appears on the surface and provokes, challenges, mocks, irritates and makes you hate.

The phenomenon of cats has taken over the Internet. They are no longer just pets - they are personalities. They have their own personalities, mannerisms and their behavior can often be compared to that of humans.
Our production invites small and large cat lovers to the very first cat parade on the grounds of VŠMU. Come and see for yourself what wonders salmon oil can do with the shine of the fur, why a long tail alone is not enough to win, and what hidden talents can be hidden in four-legged pets.

Alice (in Wonderland) depicts the story of a curious little girl who embarks on a journey into a fantastic world without the usual rules of logic. Lewis Carroll's work is a poetic image of children's imagination, but also a subtle irony towards the world of adults.

This project is for all the enthusiasts who are counting down the minutes until the Night of Theaters and all the afflicted who are still mourning the Mayonnaise salad. For puppeteers, actors, managers and critics, simply for all those who also often think "what does a Christmas carp dream about?".
An evening of improvisation in which the audience themselves are the program and where we all remember together why we wanted to do it in the first place.
