About event
We invite you to an event dedicated to the topic of design protection in architecture. The discussion lecture will familiarize the event participants with the rules of legal protection of design in architecture, offer options for how to prepare for the application of design in architecture from the point of view of creators, investors and developers, and define the role that institutions representing territorial/local public administration can play in the application of design in architecture.
The event will also offer a reflection on the protection of design in architecture until 1989 and a comparison of the conditions at that time with today's reality.
Content of the event:
〰️ Design in architecture (historical context) a glimpse from the Middle Ages to 1989, in this part we will point out the type of works that were created mainly during socialism (we will compare this period with the present),
〰️ Legal conditions for creating design in architecture until 1989 (how was the process easier compared to today, ways of financing works in the past),
〰️ Why are works that were created before 1989 a problem from the point of view of law and what change occurred with the establishment of the Slovak Republic?,
〰️ Design in architecture versus the financial view of the developer (fictitious case of recalculation of the investment), the legal view of the investor (view of potential legal problems) ,
〰️ The activity of the City of Bratislava in the field of architectural design,
〰️ Motivation of the parties involved - possibilities and ambitions of the developer/investor/designer/architect in the agenda of application of architectural design.
Lecturer of the event: JUDr. Radka Semancová.
The event was prepared by SCD in cooperation with the Ministry of Živena Bratislava.
