The Ukrainian Pianist Dmytro Choni initially studied in Kiev and completed his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He gained international attention through prizes at international piano competitions such as Van Cliburn 2022, Leeds 2021 and Paloma O'Shea Santander 2018. Dmytro Choni performs as a soloist and has worked with conductors such as Andrew Manze, Nicholas McGegan and Oksana Lyniv and has played at the Kissinger Sommer, the Verbier Festival and the Beethovenfest Bonn, among others. Concerts have taken him to, for example, the Wigmore Hall London, the Carnegie Hall New York, the Salle Cortot Paris, the Musikverein as well as the Konzerthaus Vienna, the Palau de la Música, the Auditorio Nacional de Música Madrid and the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires. His debut album was released by Naxos in 2020 and received the Supersonic Award from Pizzicato magazine. His first album on naïve records with works by Debussy, Liszt, Silvestrov and Liebermann was released in 2025. As a chamber musician he worked with Arabella Steinbacher and Mari Samuelsen, Julian Steckel, Sharon Kam, Nils Mönkemeyer and Frank Peter Zimmermann, among others.
