Do Kolbenky – komentovaná vycházka po stopách ČKD

We invite you to a guided walk that will guide you through the history and present of one of the largest industrial areas of Prague - the former engineering giant ČKD. Our journey will begin at the Kolbenova metro station, where we will learn about the history and current state of this territory. Opposite the metro is the last functional foundry, which is still witnessed by the once flourishing empire. We will go through the accessible part of the premises (with the possibility to look into the hall "E", where today is located Pragovka Gallery) and the street Poštovská will return to the main street. From there we head to the hidden church in the courtyard, which was built by the same construction companies as the surrounding factories. The church is a beautiful example of pure functionalism, and most of the population do not even know that such an architectural gem in Vysočany is located. Here we will work with the period map from the 70s and we will go through one of the few cultural monuments in this area. We will end the tour in the former health center, where we can recall some historical events associated with ČKD through the presentation and there will be room for discussion. Br/>
