Behind the perfect facade can lurk real darkness. Come with us to look behind the scenes of one of the most shocking books of this year - my mother's house from Shari Franke. It is a strong and frightening honest story of survival, manipulation and leakage from a toxic environment. Her mother Ruby Franke created a picture of a perfect family, but the reality was full of mental and physical abuse. In 2023, together with the controversial relationship counselor Jodi Hildebrandt, she was arrested for the cruel treatment of children.
The discussion will be accompanied by Mgr. Hana Ševčíková - clinical psychologist and psychotherapist who leads her own practice in Bratislava. Another guest will be Dano Pure, whose parents were members of the Christian Sect of the Blue Cross. In it, he was raised with his siblings and separated at the age of 18. Together we will outline the topics of the book, such as the psychological consequences of childhood abuse, the impact of social media on family life, trauma from the parent's hands to support and strength to find their voice and their own way to recovery.
