About event
On Tuesday, October 21, Kees Blokland will speak about his new book “Meaning, discovering, experiencing and choosing meaning”. In this essay, Blokland investigates what gives life meaning and meaning. He chooses a special perspective: concrete experiences from everyday life. Poems, conversations, interviews and observations form the basic material. His approach offers – especially in a time of gloom and doubt – practical tools to recognize, create and choose moments of meaning in one's own life. A lot of attention is paid to the relationship with faith, philosophy and psychology.
Blokland is a social psychologist, former personnel director (including Hoogovens and NS), writer and involved in the chair of liberal theology and the Baptist Conversation.
This conversation is part of the series of personal meetings in the Amsterdam Singelkerk. In the intimate church hall, after a short introduction, speakers will talk to a small group about what moves them, at the intersection of faith and society.
Join, listen and – if desired – join the conversation.
