it could be less. The lessons of Johan Remkes
On Monday, September 8, Thijs Broer and Peter Kee talk about their book "It could be less. The lessons of Johan Remkes ", which will be published at the beginning of September.
During his long administrative and political career, Johan Remkes grew into a much sought -after problem solver in this steering country. He ordered things like interim-director in The Hague and Limburg, forged the third Rutte cabinet as an informer, brought the country to rest after the furious peasant protests with a much-discussed nitrogen advice and brought the honorary debt to his beloved Groningen after the earthquake damage tirelessly in this book. Johan Remkes who acquired independent position, from his youth as a Tuinderszoon in Groningen to the years in which he sent Mark Rutte, in the heart of power. For example, the image of a man who, to his own surprise, grew into a beacon of tranquility in a country where populism and polarization grabbed around, while he had always done what many others had lost sight of in the crazy political practice. What lessons did Remkes learn on the road, and what can we learn from it?
Thijs Broer and Peter Kee previously wrote the much -discussed book "Code Red", about the coronacrisis in the back rooms of power. Together they did the political editors at Pauw and Op1, among others. Brother is a political editor of Vrij Nederland and this is Tijs. Kee is a political editor at Pauw & De Wit and politically clear at De Nieuws BV on Radio 1.
