About the concert:
Dorothy Bird "Whispering Paper" Album Release
Dorothy Bird is an art-pop singer and songwriter living between Berlin and Liverpool. Live with a band, she presents her new album "Whispering Paper", an album born of loss, carried by quiet resilience and permeated by delicate clarity.
With Jon Lawton (guitar), Ryan Mallows (drums) and herself on piano and synthesizers, Dorothy Bird invites you into a world of sound in which vulnerability meets strength and dreams meet reality. Songs like Meteorites, Yes Maybe or Dream With Me unfold into complex, intimate, yet cinematic soundscapes - somewhere between Kate Bush, Portishead and Dorothy Bird's very own signature style. Music full of poetic depth that gives closeness, allows inner spaces and transforms memory into sound.
PLUS SPECIAL GUEST:
As support, the Berlin indie folk artist Lisa Akuah opens the evening, whose melancholic yet hopeful songs touch with poetic lyrics and a warm voice. She presents her second album “Golden Seams” (spring 2025) – inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, healing fractures with gold. A work full of delicate strength that shows: Scars can shine.
