TheCongo Week 2025 cordially invites you to the interactive panel discussion:
“Democratic Republic of the Congo – Strategies for Peace, Justice and Dignity”
While the world is often silent, we want to talk, listen and act. Strategies for peace, justice and dignity in the Democratic Republic of Congo are being developed together - in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Committed voices from science, civil society and the diaspora discuss solidarity, responsibility and the role of Vienna. Open, free of charge and barrier-free.
After a thematic impulse on the current situation in the Congo, the participants work in moderated small groups on central questions:
- What is needed for real international solidarity?
- What role can Vienna play as a location for international organizations?
- How can the youth and diaspora be strengthened include?
- How can bridges be created between African, European and global movements?
The event is dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular:
- SDG 1:No poverty
- SDG 4:Quality education
- SDG 5:Gender equality
- SDG 10:Less Inequalities
- SDG 16:Peace, justice and strong institutions
- SDG 17:Partnerships to achieve goals
The panel offers space for exchange, reflection and concrete steps towards a fairer one global cooperation.
Target group:
Activists, teachers, students, NGOs, companies with social responsibility as well as members of the African and Congolese diaspora in Austria.
Participation is free, open to everyone and barrier-free accessible.
