About event

The most successful musical of the present, Czech premiere

Evan Hansen is a completely normal high school student, but in his life it certainly does not have easy. He lives alone with a redesigned mother, is bullying at school and suffers from social anxiety and depression. Moreover, he recently broke his hand. From his therapist, he gets the task of writing letters to describe what will be good on every day. So Evan writes a letter in the school library, which begins with the words "dear Evane Hansene" in which he wonders how he could talk to his beloved Zoe and if someone would notice at school if he disappeared. Unfortunate accidentally, however, the letter will find the tough guy Connor Murphy, brother Zoe. A few days later, Evan is called to the Headquarters, where Connor's parents will tell him that their son had died his own hand. In Connor's pocket, they found his letter and mistakenly believe that Connor wrote it, testifying to the close friendship between him and Evan. Because Evan feels embarrassing from the whole situation, he begins to tell his parents what they want to hear, and pretending to have been secretly best friends. In addition, he and his friends Jared and Alana start producing fake, back-up e-mail conversations between Connor and him, and so the more he gets involved in the merry-go-round of lies, differently and comic situations ...
The work with music and song lyrics Benje Paseka and Justin Paul and Libretto Steven Levenon soon became almost cult, spectators and criticism accepted him with great enthusiasm, the production was nominated for nine Tony awards and won six statuettes. Likewise, she won the Grammy Award, the Laurence Olivier Award and many others. And it certainly did not only cause great and cleverly composed songs, but also the topics that the musical tells. In a fun and moving form, he warns against the danger of drowning in the boundless waters of social networks, in which the lie is easily transformed into the truth. He asks if a merciful lie can be taken at a mercy and if we really know about our loved ones as much as we think. Derek Mong wrote in his review of the Arena stage that "although the topics of sadness and loneliness are serious, the musical is everything but not gloomy." The amendment to adolescent readers, which was published in 2018, was adapted by American actor and singer -songwriter Val Emmich in cooperation with the original authors of the musical. Evan Hansen also appeared on the screen directed by Stephen Chbosky. The film was released in the Cinema 24. September 2021, however, was not nearly as successful as its theater model.
