About event
Creative workshop for all age categories - Folk jewel of Podpoľania
At the workshop you will get a short friendly introduction to tinsmithing - a typically Slovak craft that is slowly transforming into art. You will see photos of utilitarian and decorative items made by tinkerers in the past, up to items that belong to current creations.
Next, you will get to know the craft, the basic tools and the most commonly used tinkering techniques. It will include trying out individual tools to warm up your hands.
This will be followed by the creation of the 3D object of smaller dimensions. The object will be created from galvanized wire of various thicknesses using the spiral technique, which is one of the basic traditional methods of weaving in the tin craft. You can use a pre-drawn background, or you can design the shape yourself.
Capacity is limited, to be sure, reserve a place for yourself and children via https://arteska.sk/program/drotarsky-workshop/#em-event-booking-form . Reservations are available until 18.10. until 1:00 p.m., or until the capacity is filled
