About event
Second breath /discussion/ | Saturday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. | Christiania
Rusyns in Slovakia are experiencing a revival after 1989. This minority, which registered around 63,500 people in the last population census, has two professional artistic bodies – the Alexander Duchnovič Theater and the Poddukelský folk art ensemble. But it also has a large number of people in the regions who form a non-professional culture. This is evidenced by the number of folklore ensembles, festivals, but also the first swallows in the form of painting plein airs, a sculpture symposium or a theater memorial. The overwhelming majority are volunteers, enthusiasts who want to maintain and develop Ruthenian culture. It could be said that the Ruthenians got a second wind in the last decades. What to do so that he is not the last? Dominika Novotná and Peter Štefaňák will discuss. Moderated by Peter Medviď.
The Alterity Minority Festival 2025 is realized with the financial support of the Fund for the Support of the Culture of National Minorities.
