About event
Experience Wednesdays at the museum
Novohrad Museum and Gallery, a cultural institution of the Banská Bystrica self-governing region, invites you to the event "The Second Life of Objects", which will take place on November 13. 2024 at 4:30 p.m. Lecture "Second life of objects" with restorer Mgr.art. Miroslav Janšt on the restoration of Gyurkovits's painting Digging Up the Dead.
A lecture by a restorer about his work and its corners, when he breathes a second life into collection objects. Does this create a new work, or does it just help to maintain the original?
Entrance fee: €3
Exhibition realized with the financial support of the Banská Bystrica self-governing region.
About the exhibition: In museums, we get to know the history and stories of collection objects, but we don't think about how they got to the museum, or whether it was necessary in some way to professionally treat.
NMG curators have selected artifacts from their collections that have interesting stories from the process of acquiring them to the museum, or those that revealed their secrets during restoration. Visitors will also learn what the individual terms mean, such as acquisition, conservation, restoration, in what ways an ordinary object can become an interesting exhibit, thus the exhibition opens up other topics regarding professional activities in the museum, such as research.
< br/>Duration of the exhibition: 24.10.2024 - 1.12.2024
Venue: Square Kubínyiho 38/3, Lučenec
Curators: Michaela Škodová, Andrea Németh Bozó, Martin Katreniak
