About event
Visit the well-known Bratislava YMCA building on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The last Saturday in November will be dedicated to sustainability, book adventures and, above all, children!
The exchange of books and toys by children for children will this time be complemented by the traditional book exchange of the Old Town Library, a creative workshop from the Goethe-Institut workshop and interactive thematic readings for children by RC Prešporkovo.
The complete program can be found below:
📚 BOOK EXCHANGE
Come and add to your private book collection! At the stand of the Old Town Library you will find a lot of great fiction, art literature and a rich selection of children's books. Entrance free.
➡️ From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the foyer on the 1st floor.
🧸 CHILDREN'S BOOK AND TOY EXCHANGE
Buy Christmas gifts in advance at the children's book and toy exchange. Or do you have toys or books at home that your children no longer use? Tidy up the children's room and give unused things a second chance!
We invite all fans of sustainability to the children's stock market, where they can try out what it's like to trade and earn their first money at the same time. Children can also sell their own handmade products.
How will the exchange take place?
– Children will bring a blanket (or a table, a briefcase) with them, where they can display their goods.
– Prices should be symbolic – the recommended maximum price is €6 (worthless items are not suitable).
– Things that are not sold should be taken away or given to other children.
– We recommend bringing, for example, folding chairs for sitting. Tables will be available for the fastest.
– Only children can sell.
– No clothes, shoes or food are sold.
– We recommend bringing small coins to spend.
– Participation in the exchange is free.
What will children learn at the exchange?
how to recycle toys and books,
how trading and money work,
how to communicate with customers and present your "stand".
