🙏 Spiritual program: Celebration and protest! | Pride Košice 2025

🗓️ Sunday, 24 August 2025 | 11.30-15.30
📍 Tabačka Kulturfabrik | Košice

Especially Budapest Pride this year showed the importance and power of Queer events in the countries of the free world, which is still counted by Slovakia. Exactly 56 years since the riots at Stonewall in New York, which led to the establishment of the Pride Movement, Budapest, instead of the usual 30,000 people, more than 300,000 people passed in a mood party. There were no crowds, but that did not detract from their importance. Persons of minority sexual orientation or gender identity in our country have increasingly stigmatized various interest groups in recent years, and so the very existence of the Pride event is the light of hope for better times. Only this light must be supplied together ...

As in the environment of strong Christian interest groups, which are active especially in Eastern Slovakia, we will try to find answers during the traditional Sunday program with rainbow Christians in Tabačka:

👉 their families and friends
The opportunity to start Sunday with a light snack in an informal conversation about God, faith and hope, orientation or identity in a safe and receiving environment. We have experienced and seek in all spiritual guidance or encouragement
▪ ▪︎ 13:00 13:00 A discussion of the legitimacy of the Pride as a protest in Christian society

We read: "So give what the Emperor, the Emperor, and what is God, God." In many developed countries, laws or judicial decisions have been adopted to improve the position of LGBTI+ persons and there are also efforts to increase the legal protection of minorities in the Member States within the EU. But is not the effort for equality and inclusion of LGBTI+ persons in the churches "Pressure on the Saw"? Yet the churches set their rules and is the free decision of each person to be part of them ... On the contrary, how about the prayers of the bishops for all legislators in the efforts to change the Slovak Constitution? In a secular state, however, the churches should not be mixed into politics ... Come discusses with us about the importance of Pride as a protest at the time of "cultural-ethical wars" that take place in churches and parliament. Plusts from the celebration - or protest - God. In Eastern Slovakia, this is still the only regular opportunity in the year openly celebrating Christian worship open really for everyone.

We look forward to you!
