Eugénio's notebook is the new project of the interdiction duo and is born of the desire to celebrate the centenary of Eugénio de Andrade (1923-2005), one of the most acclaimed Portuguese poets of the twentieth century, with an unmistakable and very proper style that conferred an indefectable space in Portuguese literature. Following previous works around Charles Baudelaire's poetry, Soprano Sofia Marafona and pianist Duarte Pereira Martins set out to create a new musical perspective around Eugenio's poetic work. The duo invited twelve young Portuguese composers to the writing of miniatures for singing and piano, thus creating a new Eugenian songbook. The purpose of the interdict is now presenting concerts associated with the creation of these songs, promoting the poetry of Eugénio de Andrade and publicly launching the new compositions. In addition to the link between literature and music, so expensive to Eugénio, the duo also seeks the cross between these two arts and the visual component, offering Eugenio's notebook another interpretation of the chosen poems and the total immersion in the Eugenian universe. The show is therefore in a singing and piano recital, also including a video projection component, by the video of the video man Adriana Romero.
