About event
The name of Miklós Duray was brought together by the Hungarians of the Highlands 20-21. century history. As a politician, public writer and thinker, he has put his entire oeuvre at the service of national identity, togetherness and minority rights. During the presentation, we look for the answer to how Duray became one of the most important spiritual leaders of Hungarians living abroad and what thought legacy has left us. There will also be talk of how history, personal destiny, and how the ideas play a role in reinterpreting national cohesion today.
We present the book Iván Gyurcsík-How did he become a dog-pierced book.
Iván Gyurcsík, Iván Gyurcsík Edited and published how the dog clamp became a collar? volume. The book contains eight conversations between 2017 and 2022, during which Miklós Duray discusses the fate, political struggles and community survival of the Hungarians in the Highlands.
The title is based on a word of word: the term "dog clamp" refers to Duray's earlier book published in 1983. The "collar" suggests that the community has accepted its position over time and has been tamed, which is a sign of community passivity.
The volume presents the life and thinking of a former politician, with particular attention to minority legal protection, autonomy and national affiliation. During the conversations, Duray shares his personal experiences and political views, while analyzing the situation and future of the Hungarians in the Highlands.
The book preserves not only the intellectual heritage of Miklós Duray, but also provides important lessons for anyone who is interested in minority legal protection, national politics and community survival.
