Commented Ghost tours in the church of the Finding of St. The crosses will lead you to the purgatory chapel, which is not normally open to the public.
Take the opportunity to visit the rare space that is hidden inside the complex of the former Piarist monastery and let yourself be absorbed by the mysterious atmosphere!
The tours will take place on Friday 1 November and at Saturday, November 2,
always at 7 and 9 p.m. Accompanied by Helena Marie Hendrych. The place must be reserved in advance!
Purgatory Chapel of the Church of the Discovery of St. Kříže in Litomyšl is a place that once served requiem masses for the dead.
It tells the story of purgatory, a place of hope and suffering, where the souls of the dead are cleansed of their sins.
What awaits you on the tour?
💀 You will see narrative and beautifully restored wall paintings that literally tell the entire story of purgatory.
💀 You will learn why and how the purgatory cult was created and what were the baroque ideas about the afterlife journey of the deceased.
💀 You will learn how funeral masses were celebrated or what behavior was expected from the bereaved.
💀 You will hear stories about revenants, souls who have returned to the living.
And maybe you will be a little afraid...
