The documentary production Suffocation processes personal stories lived under normalization and tries to bring everyday life closer without embellishment or bitterness in an atmosphere of suffocated freedom and promising tomorrows. Freshly ground coffee smelled in every convenience store, the "Polarkač" was made of real cream and people sang to each other that doing, doing is medicine. Most belonged to the children of the gray zone. What is left of the "grey" in people? What did they take from the time when you couldn't even buy vegetables without a bribe and the "spiritual dimension" was only allowed in the supernatural world of TV fairy tales? How did those who stood outside the gray zone live? And what did staunch communists actually believe in?
