Kent Burnside
Kent Burnside was born in 1971 in Memphis and spent his youth in Holly Springs in the middle of the North Hill Country . He is the eldest grandson and one of the closest disciples and successors of the legendary R.L. Burnside, from whom he learned to play the guitar while strumming together on his porch. Growing up in Mississippi in the 1970s, where the wounds of the Civil Rights struggle were still fresh, he was literally amazed by the unifying power of music, where whites and blacks alike peacefully gathered to hear his grandfather play at house parties. Kent's first stint in his professional career was working with guitarist and singer Jimbo Mathus (Squirrel Nut Zippers) for the Fat Possum Records label, but then his star moment came when he played in the legendary Buddy Guy's band after 2000. It was then that his characteristic blues style was born: dark, hypnotic, challenging and very danceable. Kent worked for Samuel L. Jackson to help him prepare for his role in Black Snake Moan (In Chains, 2007). He has also collaborated on stage shows of The Blues Brothers with Dan Aykroyd, who is a big fan of his. Kent performs in clubs and festivals across the United States, and has also toured Europe, Australia and New Zealand with success. He has two released albums to his credit: My World Is So Cold (2014) and Kent Burnside and the Flood Brothers (2016).
Band of Heysek
A group of heyseks who compose and play their own the animalistic, raw dirty blues songs they released on their debut album in September. The band as such was formed in 2015, three years after the breakup of the blues-rap band Nuck Chorris Gang, in which all members (guitarist Jan Švihálek, drummer Lukáš Kytnar and bassist Mojmír Sabolovič) worked and with which they released two albums in five years of existence. However, they are also known from other projects – Hoochie Coochie Band (which can be considered the live inventory of BLUES ALIVE since its beginnings), Kulturní úderka, Dura & Blues Groove, Tady To Máš, etc. Their zero concert at the Eurotrialog festival in Mikulov (still under the name Toff) was liked so much that they received an invitation to the next edition as well as a somewhat bizarre offer to join the British band Smokie in Ostrava. Since then, they have been performing mainly at clubs and festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The "Roots of Blues III" exhibition.
The third part of the traveling exhibition "Roots of Blues" focuses this time on blues performances from perhaps the last a region where the blues is passed down authentically like in the old days from father to son: North Mississippi Country Blues. The exhibition will be installed in the club, come on time :-)
